Oly State of the Union + Programming 7/24-7/30

A big congratulations to all BBC members who competed in the Bay State Summer Games this weekend, you all did fantastic and learned a lot about what to focus on in our next cycle!

On that, the next major meet we’ll be training towards is the Ginny Robinson Memorial on October 7th-8th. We’ll be running a nine week cycle leading up to it in a similar format to our last cycle (multiple programs tuned to what you need to be working on). This is of course the first meet we competed in last year after the creation of the Brookline Barbell Club, so with over a year of training in us this will be a great opportunity to set some huge PR’s! Prior to that though we’ll be taking a two week off season, we’ve been hitting the olympic lifts pretty hard over the past two cycles and can use a little time to recharge and refocus.

 

Day 1 (Monday)

1a. Bench Press 4×3  @ 9 RPE

1b. Wtd. Feet Elevated Ring Rows 4×8

2. Farmer’s/ Frame Carry 4×50′- Build to heavy load

3. Front Squat 3×10 @ 9RPE

4. 8 Min Abs

Day 2 (Wednesday)

1a. Log/ Axle Press 4×3 @ 9RPE

1b. Wtd. Pull-ups 4×3

2. Back Squat + Chains 4×5

3. ‘Isabel’- For Time: 30 Snatches (135/95)

4a. 21’s For Guns 3×21

4b. Banded Tricep Push-downs 3x Max Reps

Day 3 (Open Gym)

1a. Wtd. Push-ups 4×6 (use boxes + belt) @ 9RPE

1b. Pendlay Row 4×8 @ 9RPE

2. 2″ Deficit Deadlift 4×3 @ 9RPE

3. 3k Row

4a. Ab Wheel 3×8

4b. Landmine Rotations 3×20
