It is extremely bittersweet to announce that these next two weeks will be my last at CFCC. I will be pursuing creative passions that take me outside of the fitness industry. As many of you know, I have had these interests for quite some time and I’ve long contemplated the right time to take the leap to pursue them full time. When the pandemic hit, I felt the call to do my utmost to bolster the CFCC community. Navigating this past year of uncertainty, I set incremental goals: get the gym through to reopening, make it to fall, and finally through to the end of 2020. Having served through this past year, and years prior, I feel it is now time for me to take the next step in my own journey.
I truly and deeply care for you all. The opportunity to lead CFCC has been a challenge that pushed me to grow in a number of ways, but the best reward has been connecting with the amazing individuals in this community. Saying goodbye to you all is certainly the hardest part. I hope to stay connected.
You will be in good hands. I am excited to also announce CFCC’s new Head Coach, Laura Eustis. Laura has a lifelong background in high level competitive athletics. After playing lacrosse at Bridgewater State, she discovered Olympic Weightlifting and CrossFit. Her coaching career has included positions at Velocity Sports Performance, Charles River Strength and Fitness, and Boston Iron and Grit Training (formerly CrossFit Boston Iron and Grit). In addition, she is also a sport and strength and conditioning at Buckingham Brown and Nichols School in Cambridge. She will be bringing a deep knowledge base as evidenced by her credentials in CrossFit, USA Weightlifting, Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), and Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). I have no doubt she will be bringing a new passion and energy to the gym.
Over the next two weeks, Laura and I will both be in the gym to ensure a smooth transition. I hope to get to see as many of you as possible. For those who I miss, thank you for letting me be a part of your experience. Hope to see you all further down the road.
