We have seen and heard a lot of request for more Barbell work, in particular with Weightlifting. As much as we would like to build everyone’s repetition to the major lifts, there just isn’t enough time in a standard class.
Beginning next Wednesday, the 23rd, we will be offering an Olympic Weightlifting Class at 7:30pm! I am truly excited to make this a part of the routine here at CFCC. This class will not only emphasize corrective movement, but also address certain issues which may be prohibiting us from moving to the best of our ability. You can expect there to be many supplemental lifts, ones which train better function, technique and speed. These classes are programmed much differently than our normal CrossFit Classes, where there will be no workout at the end. This will legit be an hour of Barbell work. The class will count towards your weekly attendance. Please take it seriously as it will greatly develop your functionality and awareness. Things will be very new to most of you, so please be aware that it might not be the best idea to come to the Oly Class, then do CrossFit the very next day. Use this class as part of your weekly routine but understand if will provide a different kind of stress on the body. I will go over all of this the first class.
Get excited. Get some tape. and practice that hook grip!
