Open and Out

At the outset of the CrossFit Open this year Yosh and I struggled with whether to introduce that aspect of CrossFit into the gym at such an early stage. To our surprise everyone really took to the challenge. Many of you submitted legit scores for these workouts. Some caught the competitive bug and all of us got to see the ways in which CrossFit is expanding the possibilities of human performance at it’s highest levels. I  find it useful and humbling to at least know what is possible in the realm of general fitness.

With that said, programming over five weeks with a big blank spot on the calendar every friday was a huge challenge. At times we were forced to double up on movements that we  hadn’t planned on. I for one am glad that the open is over and that we can return to our regular programming routine. At just over two months in it constantly amazes me how many improvements I’ve seen in our clients. Not only in strength and fitness but in mobility and flexibility as well. I’m looking forward to seeing how things progress in the next 60 days…

    I really looked forward to each Open workout- I’m glad you guys decided to go for it. I can imagine the weekly programming-gamble would get old for you, though. Today’s open and out workout was super challenging for me. I loved it. I loath 3 rounds of 500m row. Thanks so much for your commitment to our crossfit journey, Coaches!
