I think that one of the best aspects of being a part of the CrossFit community is being able to share the experience of certain workouts. Companying the misery of burpees side by side one another provides a sense of companionship not found too often. The genuine push for other people to complete a workout starts an organic process of friendship and respect.
Today, we will further this by performing our first Hero WOD.
Hero WODs are created in honor of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us to have the ability to do what it is we do on the regular. We can pay our respects in this way by performing a workout in their memory. Don’t just go through the motions on this one, guys. Make it hurt. Go to that place that makes you want to quit, but then fight and finish. Give it right back to the workout and come away saying “This one’s for you”.
In your honor, Sergeant Wittman.
